Job Description

We are a 5-star hotel located at Dhiffushi. A local island close to the International Airport, which can be reached within 45 minutes via speedboat or within 2 hours by ferry. A one-of-a-kind island beach hotel with an infinity pool, roof top restaurant, inhouse wellness & spa center, Kid’s Club, Water sports & dive center and a sunset beach. A brand which has been crafted and designed to provide a unique Maldivian cultural experience.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all safety procedures are in place and followed by workers.
• Coordinating with engineers or other supervisors to set priorities for projects and ensuring that they are met.
• Reviewing project proposals to determine feasibility, scope, cost estimates, and timelines.
• Evaluating employee performance and providing feedback to help them improve their skills.
• Monitoring the work of engineers to ensure that they are adhering to plans and specifications.
• Monitoring employees’ attendance, on-the-job performance, and productivity.
• Recommending new technologies for use in projects based on cost, safety, efficiency, and other considerations.
• Reviewing blueprints and other design documents to ensure that they meet department standards for safety and quality.
• Training and supervising workers on construction sites, including architects, and engineers.
• Assist with overseeing the physical operations of the hotel, including maintenance and repair of interior and exterior of buildings, hotel rooms and contents, laundry and kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and water treatment systems, and swimming pool-if applicable.
• Assist with directing the daily activities of the department.
• Implements energy conservation activities/initiatives for the property, as assigned.
• Maintain responsibility for maximizing productivity and efficiencies.
• Provide engineering leadership and guidance for non-routine problems requiring substantial judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering procedures, production shoots, Them Nights construction, and special events.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, Science or related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience engineering field.
• Ability to oversee project logistics and resource allocation.
• Expert level knowledge of engineering equipment, technology and processes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ensure quality and safety compliance standards are met at all times.
