Job Description
The role of the Product Analyst is to represent the Product Manager and the overall Product function within the off-shore development team. This role will have increasing autonomy over time as they ensure that the scrum teams are able to carry out their responsibilities by having direct access to Product representation.
Responsibilities include:
- Acts as the primary day to day Product contact point for the Scrum team.
- Supports the Scrum Master in managing team velocity and supporting the decision making on what stories are to be played in each sprint.
- Embedded within the scrum team to provide guidance on stories and test scenarios.
- Participates actively in daily scrum.
- Responsible for ensuring that Product stories in Jira accurately reflect those in the epic document and communicates any in-sprint changes to both Product Manager and engineering teams as appropriate.
- Supports the Product Manager during Epic and Story grooming and ensures that all Scrum Team concerns and questions are managed and answered.
- Actively reviews all test cases and plans with test team, prior to review.
- Should be seen as a facilitator and not another layer of management delaying review.
- Prepares showcases with scrum team, ensuring ALL story acceptance criteria can be demonstrated.
- Presents showcases to Product Manager.
- Is accountable for all defects in scrum showcase and acts as owner until resolved.
- Investigates to understand all areas of the product, with the aim of being a functional expert within 12 months.
- Initially all guidance provided to be written and copied to product analyst.
- Daily contact with Product Managers and wider Product team to gain knowledge and understand requirements under development in more detail.
- Product Manager to hold review and perform lessons learnt with this individual after every sprint and provide feedback.
- Work with Scrum Master to ensure each story and each sprint completes a Definition of Done.
Position Requirements:
- A Product advocate who is able to engender a Product first mentality in the engineering teams.
- 2-3 years experience in a Product Management role.
- Experience working in an Agile environment in a distributed team location, or similar experience.
- Strong experience working with leading SaaS-based enterprise application platforms.
- Bachelor’ degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with user experience and product development teams.
- Experience working for or with application integration teams.
