Job Description
The Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality educational instruction in a classroom setting, ensuring a productive and engaging learning environment. This role includes preparation of lecture content, management of student progress, and active engagement with students. The Lecturer will also be responsible for maintaining discipline, and liaising with parents as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Lecture Preparation:
- Arrive in the classroom 30 minutes prior to the scheduled lecture time.
- Weekdays: 2:00 PM.
- Weekends:
- Saturdays: 7:00 AM / 11:00 AM / 2:00 PM.
- Sundays: 7:30 AM / 11:00 AM / 2:00 PM.
- Note down the lecture outline for each session.
- Review and mark Class and Activity books before the lecture commences.
Classroom Management:
- Monitor and evaluate students' books by walking around the classroom.
- Conduct random inspections of Dictation books to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain an engaging, student-centered classroom environment.
- Manage and oversee student discipline effectively.
Student Interaction:
- Foster active engagement with students during lectures.
- Ensure students are handed over to their parents with the assistance of the assistant lecturer, remaining responsible for the students until they are safely handed over.
Administrative Duties:
- Upload lecture content, including the Google Meet link, homework assignments, and Dictation words to the relevant Google Classroom within 24 hours after the lecture. (This is mandatory.)
- Update batch files regularly.
- Upload a photo of the lecturer log daily before 6:00 PM.
Communication:
- Refrain from using mobile phones during lectures. (Please leave phones at the Front Office before the lecture begins.)
- Do not engage in discussions with parents during student handover. If concerns arise, request a meeting with the parent in the library. For issues beyond your capacity, inform the appropriate coordinator.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, a relevant subject, or a related field. TKT, CELTA. A Master’s degree or higher qualification is preferred.
- Proven experience in teaching or lecturing in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and online platforms.
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily classroom-based with a requirement to interact regularly with students, parents, and academic and administrative staff.
- The Lecturer is expected to adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
