Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervise shipment discharging operations, including the transfer of materials from jetty to yard and yard to plant.
- Ensure efficient and timely unloading of materials while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor the operational condition of dedusting hoppers installed at ports.
- Work with suppliers to ensure regular maintenance and availability of hoppers.
- Liaise with port authorities, customs officials, environmental agencies, BOI, and other government representatives to facilitate smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements during procurement and shipment processes.
- Uphold company safety guidelines and ensure contractors adhere to them during operations.
- Guide contractors on operational standards and address performance issues promptly.
- Address and manage additional tasks at the port or yard, including civil, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
- Take proactive measures to anticipate and resolve operational challenges.
- Be prepared to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays based on shipment schedules.
- Ensure readiness to handle emergency situations and unplanned operational demands.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in port operations, logistics, or Mechanical
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage diverse teams and contractors effectively.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and standards in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
