Job Description
The Assistant Manager – Accounts Finalization (UK Process) will be responsible for managing the end to end preparation and finalization of statutory accounts for UK-based clients. The role requires strong accounting knowledge under UK GAAP, attention to detail, ability to review deliverables, and ensure timely and error-free financial reporting while leading and supporting the team.
Responsibilities:
- End-to-end preparation and finalization of statutory accounts for UK entities (Ltd., LLP, Sole Traders, Partnerships).
- Review Trial Balance, ledgers, and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and review year-end financial statements as per FRS 102 / FRS 105 compliance.
- Reconcile control accounts including bank, debtors/creditors, payroll, VAT, accruals & prepayments.
- Liaise with UK accountants and clients to obtain clarifications, additional information, and resolve queries.
- Ensure timely tax computation support files for corporate tax filings.
- Mentor, support & supervise junior accountants working on bookkeeping and year-end packs.
- Maintain SOPs, checklists and quality controls to ensure high-quality output.
- Contribute to process improvement & automation for better accuracy and turnaround time.
- Ensure data confidentiality and follow compliance standards throughout the reporting cycle.
Requirements:
- 3 – 6+ years of experience in UK accounting / Accounts finalization process.
- Hands-on experience with UK GAAP, FRS 102, FRS 105, journals, year-end adjustments, and statutory accounts filing.
- Strong working knowledge of UK accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, CCH, Taxfiler (any of these).
- Expertise in bank reconciliation, control accounts, VAT principles & payroll journals.
- Excellent analytical, review and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with high accuracy.
- Good written & verbal communication for UK client interactions.
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce (B.Com / M.Com / MBA / CA Inter / ACCA preferred).
