Job Description
The Account Manager – Accounts Finalization (UK Process) will be responsible for leading and overseeing complete finalization of statutory accounts for UK clients, managing client relationships, delivering high-quality reporting, and guiding a team of accountants. The role requires deep knowledge of UK GAAP, a strong review mindset, and an ability to drive operational excellence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for UK clients for year-end accounting deliverables.
- Take ownership of end-to-end statutory accounts finalization for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Review Trial Balance, ledgers, workpapers, and supporting schedules created by the team.
- Ensure financial statements compliance as per FRS 102 / FRS 105.
- Oversee reconciliations including bank, VAT, payroll, debtors/creditors, fixed assets, accruals & prepayments.
- Review and support corporate tax computation schedules and supporting reports.
- Lead, mentor and monitor team members working on bookkeeping, year-end packs and workpaper files.
- Conduct quality checks, sample audits and error analysis to uphold reporting standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities and best practices.
- Manage project planning, resource allocation and delivery timelines across accounts.
- Maintain client escalations proactively and ensure high client satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure compliance with data security and confidentiality standards.
Requirements:
- 6 + years of experience in UK accounting / finalization of statutory accounts, including 2+ years in a leadership / client management role.
- Thorough understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102 / FRS 105, year-end adjustments, deferred taxation, provisions & disclosures.
- Strong working knowledge of UK accounting platforms such as:Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, CCH, Taxfiler, Xero Practice Manager (any of these).
- Experience managing multiple UK clients simultaneously with timeline and delivery oversight.
- Excellent review and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management, including direct interaction with UK partners / auditors.
- Experience in team management, coaching and performance monitoring.
- Bachelor’s / master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce (B.Com / M.Com / MBA / CA Inter / ACCA preferred).
