Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to enhance our existing Salesforce platform and lead the development of a next-generation, Salesforce-native application for the AppExchange. This role combines modernization of UI/UX and core functionality with the creation of advanced exception-based reporting and robust logistics planning capabilities. The new application will compete directly with solutions in loss prevention, safety, and risk intelligence, while adding powerful logistics features — including route optimization, shipment scheduling, transportation visibility, and exception-driven logistics alerts — to deliver a more comprehensive operational and risk management platform for retail, supply chain, and logistics-heavy organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance and modernize an existing Salesforce platform by improving user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components (as needed), Lightning Design System (SLDS), and responsive/mobile-first design principles.
- Develop and implement new functional enhancements across the platform, including custom objects, automation (Flow, Apex triggers/classes), integrations, and security configurations.
- Design and build exception-based reporting functionality to detect, analyze, and alert on anomalies in incoming data (e.g., POS exceptions, inventory discrepancies, compliance issues, or operational outliers), including real-time thresholds, scheduled batch processing, interactive dashboards, and automated notifications.
- Architect and develop logistics planning capabilities within the platform and AppExchange application, such as: Route optimization and scheduling (considering traffic, resources, priorities, and constraints), Shipment and transportation schedule management, Fleet/asset tracking integration points, Demand-based logistics forecasting and resource allocation, Exception-driven logistics workflows (e.g., delay alerts, rerouting triggers, compliance checks).
- Development of a competitive Salesforce AppExchange application — from architecture and requirements through development, testing, security review preparation, packaging, and launch — delivering superior features in incident/case management, exception analytics, audit tracking, risk intelligence, logistics planning & execution, and mobile-friendly operations.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, business stakeholders, logistics/transportation experts, and end users to translate requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions that unify loss prevention with logistics efficiency.
- Ensure high code quality via unit testing (75-80%+ coverage), peer reviews, governor limit compliance, and best practices for performance and scalability — especially with large data volumes typical in logistics and exception reporting.
- Optimize data models, implement efficient querying (SOQL/SOSL), and handle integrations with external logistics systems (e.g., TMS, ERP, carrier APIs) where needed.
- Support deployments using change sets, Salesforce DX, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Copado, Gearset), and AppExchange security review/compliance standards.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional Salesforce development experience building enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong expertise in Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Triggers, Batch Apex, REST/SOAP APIs, and platform integrations.
- Proven experience modernizing UI/UX in Lightning Experience with SLDS and component-driven development.
- Hands-on work with exception-based reporting, analytics, or anomaly detection systems (dashboards, alerts, threshold rules).
- Familiarity with Salesforce automation tools (Flows, Process Builder, Approval Processes) and reporting/analytics features (Reports, Dashboards, Einstein Analytics/Tableau CRM).
- Experience preparing solutions for Salesforce AppExchange (packaging, security review, listing requirements) preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Salesforce security, data modeling, performance tuning, and handling high-volume data scenarios common in logistics and risk management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce certifications: Platform Developer II (required), Platform Developer I, JavaScript Developer I.
- Experience with logistics/transportation features in Salesforce, such as route optimization, Field Service Lightning concepts, shipment tracking, supply chain visibility, or integrations with TMS/ERP systems.
- Exposure to retail, loss prevention, supply chain, transportation, or 3PL industries.
- Knowledge of AI-driven tools (Einstein), MuleSoft, external APIs, or AppExchange logistics packages (e.g., Neurored, Revenova, Axolt).
- Experience with mobile-responsive design or Salesforce Mobile App customizations for field/dispatch use cases.
- Background in building exception-driven workflows that bridge risk intelligence with operational/logistics execution.
