Job Description

We are hiring a Product Manager on behalf of our client company.

Operations Management & Specific Roles:

  • Gain knowledge of the company Software, its operation, key processes, and functionalities.
  • Lead the development and implementation teams; provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team as required.
  • Review current software development team capabilities in relation to the development and maintenance of the company. Prepare a report with recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing and deployment.
  • Prepare, deliver, and manage a plan for the completion and delivery of the software covering each stage of development.
  • Oversee and be responsible for project timelines, deliverables and resource allocation; adjust plans and/or resources as necessary to meet project and client or business-driven deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope and objectives.
  • Project and Program manage the company's Readiness Plan to ensure that the Plan is delivered on time without delay and to the required standard.
  • Be responsible for and accountable to the MD for the entire company's Team development and support teams.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize work activities according to plans and deadlines.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development and operational practices.
  • Develop Documented Information to maintain Cyber Essentials + certification and Lead and deliver ISO 27001 Certification.
  • Prepare and oversee the entire Documented Information (policies, processes, procedures and record documentation) for the business and ISO 27001.
  • Prepare and finalize the company Legal Documents and Agreements for Channel Partner/Reseller and Client use, based on Best Practice documents.
  • Prepare and propose a weekly update tracking report for the MD. This shall be stored in a shared folder and shall always be maintained and kept up to date.
  • Meet with the MD on at least a weekly basis to provide an overview of all relevant matters. This may be in person or virtually.
  • Manage and direct daily operations of development, maintenance ops, pre-sales, and sales activities to ensure on-time delivery and optimized efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and best practices.
  • Manage and guide the software development back-end team, including the digital marketing team in Colombo.
  • Deliver company demos.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics; identify and implement areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate with various departments within company and related external companies to ensure progress and completion of tasks and seamless operations.
  • Initiate and deliver the promotional, sales and marketing plan and initiatives.
  • Liaise with prospects and clients on deliverables and quality matters.

Pre-Sales & Sales:

  • Develop and propose a manageable and sustainable marketing strategy and plan; present to the MD within the first month.
  • Work with SMT to develop and implement the agreed marketing strategies and plans for the company.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, social media, email, etc.).
  • Execute the approved marketing strategy and plan, once approved by the MD.
  • Produce high-quality marketing content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and social media updates.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create visually appealing marketing materials.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the brand voice and messaging.
  • Manage, direct, and deliver the pre-sales and sales marketing and other go-to-market and operational requirements and collateral.
  • Focus efforts on the UK, the Middle East and Sri Lankan markets initially.
  • Identify and appoint reseller partners in various countries and regions as per business Plan.
  • Target the onboarding of at least six user organizations in the first six months. This may be at a significantly reduced pricelist rate.
  • Conduct, manage and direct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop content for various marketing channels, including social media, email, and website(s) along with the backend service team(s).
  • Direct telephone calls to prospects to promote the brand and products and to set up discovery meetings.
  • Input into all the overall marketing and sales strategies and campaigns (direct selling, digital marketing, events, and seminars etc.)
  • Propose to the MD and create an annual event calendar for review with the Senior Management Team, this will focus on events in the UK and Middle East initially. This needs to focus on best value event opportunities.
  • Deliver company demos to prospects and clients.
  • Analyze marketing campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Engage with customers through various channels to build relationships and gather feedback.
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs with accurate solution designs, timelines, and estimations
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to promote software products.
  • Manage customer inquiries and provide timely and accurate information.
  • Conduct discovery sessions and workshops to gather business and technical needs
  • Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure feasibility, scope clarity, and smooth handover post-sale
  • Support client engagements during the sales cycle to build trust and align expectations
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams in Colombo and elsewhere to deliver the promotional, sales and marketing plans and to enhance customer engagement.
  • Promote the company group products using various means.
  • Develop and propose marketing collaterals and other materials for this purpose.
